Starting at Best Western Hotel, Karl Johans Gate 33. Follow the footsteps of police detective Harry Hole around Oslo, visit watering holes he frequents including Schrøder. Pass his home in Sofies Gate, and his hottest crime scenes from the best selling book series. In 2017 the walk is especially linked up to the latest book and upcoming film, The Snowman.

See Oslo's largest existing prison dungeon, the vault of the old bank of Norway that was robbed in 1835 and hear about ghosts that haunt the old fortress from 1299. Visit Oslo's biggest scupture park and hear how the statues of Gustav Vigeland remind us of fairytales you have heard and Norwegian folklore. Get to know the important sights described in Jo Nesbø's childrens books about Dr Proktor. Play a game of chess in front of the kings palace. You choose- we organize something for your likes.

HISTORICAL OSLO
The walk can start from the entrance to the square in front of Oslo opera house or more locally at St Hallvards plass. The ruins of medieval Oslo are called «The Pompeii of the north». Oslo is the oldest capital city of the five Nordic countries. It was chosen to be a settlement by our last viking king Harald the hard (who fell at Stanford bridge in 1066) around 1050. There are ruins that show us the bishops and the kings areas and fortresses with a lot of Norwegian history linked to these places like the civil war that was on and off for 110 years. In this area there are still archaeological excavations going on in 2017. The area of «Old Oslo» has inspired writers to tell us crime, scary and folklore stories. We see the hill were Edvard Munch has experiences that promoted him to paint «The Scream»

THE HEART OF OSLO
This walk covers the center of Oslo and shows the city's developement from viking times until today. Meeting place in front of The city hall ( sea side). Sights are :- the fjord and previous ship warft and oil platform factory ( Aker brygge) , the city hall with links back to viking king Harard the hard and St Hallvard of Oslo, Nobels peace center, Akershus – the oldest fortress in northern Europe still in active use with the war museum and resistance museum from World War 2, the hill where Edvard Munch was inpisired to paint «The Scream», Oslo bank square, the site of the renessance city square, Norways parliament, the government builing that was tried blown upm min 2011, the Grand hotel where Ibsen had his meals and the winner of the peace prize stays, the kings palace, the old university of Oslo and Henrik Ibsens theater- the national theater of Norway. You will also be introduced to the best shopping, drinking and eating places of Oslo.

We pass places painted by for instance Christian Krogh, Per Krogh, Anders Svarstad, Teodor Kittelsen, Ludvig Teodor Bratz, Fritz Thaulow and Edvard Munch and statues or relieffs by Christoffer Borch/Gudbrand Mørstad, Dagfinn Werenskiold, Per Ung, Nina Sundby and DyreVaa among others . NEW OSLO
The walk start from The Tiger statue in front of Oslo's main railway station- «Oslo S». We see many new buildings all from this century, including a walk on the roof of Oslo Opera house from 2008. From the opera roof you see many parts of the city. The walk includes «The bar code» and Sørenga with Oslo's largest fjord swimming arena. The new Edvard Munch museum is coming in this area. Oslo's most famous river, remkinding us of industry in our city, Akersela reaches the fjord here
